Ordinary multimeters need to choose a current of 10A or a DC of 20A.

（2） Then select the test lead position. The black test lead is always at the COM position, and the red test lead is DC 10A or DC 20A.

（3） Finally connect to the battery, first turn off the key and all electrical appliances on the car, and lock it remotely. Connect the red test lead to the battery cable and fix it firmly. Loosen the negative cable screw, connect the black test lead to the battery terminal, and then slowly remove the negative cable.

（4）Use a multimeter to connect the meter in series between the battery and the negative cable according to the correct connection method.

5.Precautions for using multimeter

（2）During the process of using the multimeter, do not touch the metal part of the test lead with your hand. This can ensure the accuracy of the measurement on the one hand and the safety of the person on the other.

（3）When measuring a certain amount of electricity, you cannot shift gears at the same time as the measurement, especially when measuring high voltage or current. Otherwise, the multimeter will be destroyed. If you need to change gears, you should disconnect the test lead first, and then measure after changing gears. 

（4）When using the multimeter, it must be placed horizontally to avoid causing errors. At the same time, we must also pay attention to avoid the influence of external magnetic field on the multimeter. 

（5）After the multimeter is used, set the transfer switch to the maximum block of AC voltage. If it is not used for a long time, the battery inside the multimeter should also be taken out to prevent the battery from corroding other components in the meter.
