A good socket set can be a godsend when trying to reach hard-to-reach bolts. Not only does one need a socket set, but also a good array of extensions ranging from 2” to 24”. When purchasing a socket set be sure to get a set or flex joints as well. Flex joints, when used in combination with the extensions, can help to reach into places that a wrench can not fit. A good set in ¼” and 3/8” dive sizes will be required.
Any mechanic needs a good set of Socket Wrenches, which can be purchased at the local hardware store. One thing to know is that most new cars will require both a metric and standard set. Most bolts on a car will have a certain torque spec that has to be followed when installing them. Some, such as head bolts, are very dependant on this, and will cause problems if it is not followed.
